Membership Application and Approval Procedures
- Applicant completes and signs the board-approved Membership Application Form. You are not considered an official member of LAPA until the review process is complete.
- The application is promptly referred to the Membership Committee for review.
- The Membership Committee reviews and validates the applicant’s information, including verifying license status with the state insurance database (If applicant applies as a public adjuster).
- If there are no concerns raised during the application review, the applicant may be admitted as an official member.
- The Board members have the discretion to revoke or deny membership at any time, requiring a majority vote.

- A discount to LAPA conferences and training Opportunities
- LAPA news and legislative updates
- use of the Association logo
- Listing on the LAPA website.
- Affiliate and Attorney Affiliate members enjoy increased visibility in the PA community through select sponsorship opportunities and participation in LAPA events.
Public Adjuster- Full Member
Approval Procedure
- Public Adjuster licensed by the State of Louisiana.
- Demonstrates that public adjusting as the primary focus of business.
- Demonstrates practical knowledge of and compliance with LA Rev Stat § 22:1706 (2023), which defines the ethical and professional standards public adjusters must adhere to in dealing with clients, law firms, contractors, and others in related industries.
- All LAPA members must abide by the LAPA Code of Ethics

Public Adjuster-
Limited Member
- Public Insurance adjusters licensed outside Louisiana who are of good character and serve the public insurance industry
- Must be in good standing with their licensing entity.
- Demonstrates practical knowledge of and compliance with LA Rev Stat § 22:1706 (2023), which defines the ethical and professional standards public adjusters must adhere to in dealing with clients, law firms, contractors, and others in related industries.

Affiliate Member
- An individual, partnership, corporation, or nonprofit organization that directly supports the work of public insurance adjusters (e.g. accountant, business insurance provider, contractors, data professional, supplier, engineers, or other professional).
- Not engaged in the practice of law.
- Not engaged in the profession of public insurance adjusting.
- Not licensed as an independent adjuster.
- Demonstrates practical knowledge of and compliance with LA Rev Stat § 22:1706 (2023), which addresses the ethical and professional standards that define appropriate interaction with public adjusters.
