Committees

Committees are where the association’s work happens. Each one is run by members, and each one has room for more.

Six committees

Joining one is the most direct way to shape how public adjusting is practiced in Louisiana — and a straightforward way to meet the people doing it.

Membership & fundraising

Grows membership, maintains the roster, applies quality control in the application process, and secures sponsorship. The funding this committee raises supports LAPA’s advocacy, education, and member services.

Ethics

Reviews the Code of Ethics and Conduct against Louisiana Department of Insurance requirements and state statute, keeping LAPA compliant and promoting ethical practice across the industry.

Public relations & convention

Runs the annual and semi-annual conventions — venues, speakers, networking — and manages LAPA’s public voice: news releases, the newsletter, the website, and PR during major catastrophes so policyholders know their rights.

Continuing education

Works with speakers and education providers to put quality CE in front of members at LAPA events, meeting Louisiana Department of Insurance requirements.

Unlicensed activity & fraud

Documents and reports tips about unlicensed activity submitted through the LAPA portal, working with regulators to protect policyholders and the licensed professionals who meet the standard.

Legislative

Monitors and responds to proposed legislation and regulatory changes affecting public adjusters and property claims. Advocates for pro-consumer law and represents LAPA before the Legislature and the Department of Insurance.
